Recently, my class completed the pottery module. As the name implies this module is all about making sculptures and pots out of clay. During the module I made two pieces. One was a name plate and the other was a pinch pot that I transformed into a monster. The module was very enjoyable overall and I learned so much about the subject.

On Tuesday the 13th of March I sat my Public Speaking exam. For this exam we were required to write a speech and present a powerpoint alongside it. I wrote my speech on gun control in America because I believe that is a very current issue that needs to be addressed. The module classes prepared me for the exam by teaching me all about speech techniques, speech devices, and how to make a good argument in your speech. It also taught me to know my facts and to back them up with reliable sources. I got the results back from my exam today and I achieved an honours. Overall, I found this module to be interesting and I feel that it will help me in the future when I might have to present during a business meeting.
Recently, I finished my second rotation of modules. One of these modules was Art Appreciation. I actually found this module to be very enjoyable. We primarily learned about painting, sculpture and architecture but we also learned about a few other visual art forms. By the end of the module we were required to submit a project on an artist of our choice. I chose to do mine about Jackson Pollock, a man who pioneered modern abstract art. I got an A in this module in the end. Overall, I found this module very interesting but I'm not too sure how useful it would be. This was definitely one of favourite modules.
I had my final nutrition class on the 13th of September. It was definitely my favourite module so far. I thought that it was extremely interesting learning about what foods to eat, when to eat them and also the relationship between nutrition and sport. Learning about the prevalence of doping in sport was also quite engaging. Overall, I found this module very useful as it broadened my knowledge of what is in food, what foods are good/ bad for you and the importance of proper nutrition.
Careers was an incredibly interesting module. I feel like it helped to reassure me on what career path I would like to take and gave me more information about that profession. The project that I did for this module gave me a very detailed analysis of my career and its entry routes. In my opinion this module was very helpful and is necessary as it can be difficult to decide on what career path is right for you.
So, we completed our first rotation of modules on the 13th of October. Mindfulness was one of the modules in rotation. Before partaking in this class I had no idea what mindfulness was and thought that it was related to religion. I have learned that mindfulness is all about being present and training your mind to be at peace. It is heavily involved in meditation and certain practices like yoga. For me, personally I didn't find that it worked nor did I find it useful. However, I do respect that some people found it useful and gained something from it. Overall I did not really find this module interesting.
