Yesterday I had a photography course in the sports hall. I signed up for it because I thought it might be interesting and I enjoy taking pictures. It was a 2 hour course where we learned the basics about photography. Firstly we learned how to hold the camera. I found out that this is crucial when taking a good picture. Next we learned the basic functions of the cameras and what each different lens does. We were taught how to correctly position the subject to be able to take advantage of light to make photos appear more defined and with better colour. After we had got the hang of the basics we moved on to portrait photography. We tested out different ways of utilizing the light and the correct posture and pose the subject should have. We produced some pretty impressive pictures and I was amazed at how good most of them looked. I discovered that the use of a flash diffuser greatly aided the process and made artificial light appear more natural. Overall, it was a great introductory course to photography and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in starting out at photography.
